The Observer captures a Giraffe in profile, standing apart against the bright African light.
Behind it, the soft outline of a distant mountain fades into the pale sky, creating a natural backdrop without competing with the subject. The light catches the edge of the Giraffe’s mane and neck, while the side-on view reveals the individual markings, weathered texture and finer details of its face.
With its attention fixed somewhere beyond the frame, the Giraffe appears briefly removed from everything around it. Still, alert and simply watching.
